A published writer since 1979, Rick Ornberg founded Ornberg & Associates in 1985, while still a fulltime firefighter with the Des Plaines, IL Fire Department. On his days off, Rick honed his skills and gained experience while providing part time layout, design, writing and photography services as a “one-stop” provider for a wide variety of clients including businesses, organizations and political campaigns.

Retiring from the Fire Department in 1996 after 26 years of service, Ornberg & Associates expanded its client list providing collateral materials, print ads, newsletter and directory publishing services. Major clients included school districts, township government, national and international business associations, small and large corporations and local, state and national political campaigns.

In May, 2000, Rick took the helm as Executive Director of a large, 600-member Chamber of Commerce as an advocate for businesses, helping members with both marketing and networking, and serving a wide variety of business disciplines and challenges.

In January, 2006, Rick reopened Ornberg & Associates and returned to offering full-service, turn-key layout, design, writing, photography, web support, publicity services now adding quality promotional products and advertising specialties for both new and established businesses and organizations.
